Important: Trading leveraged products such as forex, CFDs and cryptocurrencies carries a high level of risk and may not be suitable for all investors. You could lose some or all of your invested capital, and in some circumstances more than your initial deposit. Do not trade with money you cannot afford to lose.
1. Introduction
At Mundo-FX, we are committed to giving our clients transparent and comprehensive information about the risks of trading in the financial markets. Before taking part in any trading activity, it is essential that you fully understand and acknowledge the risks described below.
This Risk Disclosure Policy is provided by Optimalio Ltd (Reg. No 124074), trading as Mundo-FX. It describes the main risks associated with the products and services we offer. It does not describe every risk, and you should not rely on it as a complete list. Before opening an account or placing a trade, read this document together with our Terms & Conditions, and seek independent financial, legal or tax advice if you are unsure whether trading is right for you.
2. No Investment Advice
Mundo-FX provides execution services only. We do not provide personal investment advice or recommendations. Any market commentary, analysis, educational material, signals or strategy templates we publish are general information and do not take your personal circumstances into account. Decisions to trade are made by you, and you are solely responsible for them.
3. Market Risk
Financial markets are inherently volatile, and prices can fluctuate rapidly. Unexpected or sudden market shifts can lead to losses that significantly affect your investment results.
4. Leverage and Margin
Leveraged trading, or trading on margin, allows you to control a position larger than the funds in your account. Leverage magnifies both profits and losses: while it offers the opportunity for higher returns, it also increases the risk of substantial losses, which may exceed your initial investment. A relatively small market movement can have a proportionally larger impact on your account; for example, at 1:100 leverage a 1% adverse price move can reduce your margin by 100%. Exercise caution whenever you use leverage.
- If your equity falls below the required margin level, you may receive a margin call and be required to deposit additional funds at short notice.
- If your margin level reaches the stop-out level, some or all of your open positions may be closed automatically at the prevailing market price, which may result in a substantial loss.
- Margin requirements can change, including without prior notice during periods of high volatility or around major events.
5. Contracts for Difference (CFDs)
CFDs are complex derivative instruments. When you trade a CFD you do not own the underlying asset and have no rights to it, such as voting rights or physical delivery. The value of a CFD reflects movements in the price of the underlying instrument, and CFDs are traded over the counter with Mundo-FX as your counterparty, not on a regulated exchange. Positions held overnight incur swap or financing charges that can materially affect your results over time.
6. Foreign Exchange
Currency markets can be highly volatile and are affected by interest rates, economic data, central-bank decisions, political events and global crises. Prices can move sharply and unexpectedly, including over weekends when markets are closed, which can cause prices to gap at the open.
7. Cryptocurrencies
Cryptocurrencies and crypto-based CFDs carry additional risks:
- Extreme price volatility, with large intraday moves that are common and difficult to predict.
- Limited or evolving regulation, and the possibility that governments restrict or ban their use or trading.
- Technological risks, including network failures, forks, protocol vulnerabilities and cyber-attacks on exchanges and wallets.
- Lower liquidity in some assets and at certain times, which can widen spreads and increase slippage.
- Transfers on a blockchain are generally irreversible; errors in wallet addresses can result in permanent loss.
8. Stocks and Indices
Share and index prices are affected by company results, sector trends, interest rates and broader economic conditions. Corporate actions such as dividends, splits and mergers may lead to adjustments to your positions. Trading outside the underlying exchange’s hours may be unavailable or subject to wider spreads.
9. Market Volatility, Gaps and Slippage
During fast-moving markets, around major economic announcements or at market opens, prices can move quickly and liquidity may be reduced. Your order may be filled at a price different from the one you requested (slippage), and prices may “gap” from one level to another without trading in between. Stop-loss orders do not guarantee that your position will be closed at the specified level.
10. Liquidity Risk
Market conditions may sometimes limit liquidity, making it difficult or impossible to execute trades or close a position at the desired or a reasonable price. This can result in slippage, significantly wider spreads or price gaps, all of which may negatively affect your trading performance, and some instruments may be temporarily suspended.
11. Political and Economic Risk
External factors such as political developments, economic data releases and geopolitical events can significantly influence financial markets and lead to sudden and unpredictable price movements. These factors are beyond the trader’s control and can create challenging trading conditions.
12. Automated and Algorithmic Trading
Automated strategies, trading robots and copy-style tools execute trades based on predefined rules. They can malfunction, behave unexpectedly in unusual market conditions, or execute many trades quickly. Historical or back-tested performance of a strategy is not a reliable indicator of future results. You remain responsible for all trades placed through any automated tool, and you should monitor your account regularly.
13. Technology and Internet Risks
Despite the use of advanced technology, there is always a risk of technical disruption. Trading through online platforms involves risks including system, hardware and software failures, internet connectivity problems, power outages, delays in price feeds, data inaccuracies and cyber-attacks, any of which can interfere with your trading and result in financial losses. We are not responsible for losses caused by failures of communication systems or equipment outside our reasonable control. Keep your login credentials secure and enable two-factor authentication.
14. Counterparty and Insolvency Risk
When you trade OTC products with us, we are your counterparty. Trading also involves interactions with brokers, banks, payment providers, liquidity providers, other financial institutions and market participants, and there are risks related to their financial stability, solvency and operational reliability. Your ability to receive amounts owed to you depends on our financial standing and theirs; if a counterparty fails to meet its obligations or becomes insolvent, you may suffer financial losses and may not recover all of your funds.
15. Currency Risk
If you deposit, trade or withdraw in a currency different from your account’s base currency, exchange-rate movements and conversion fees will affect the value of your deposits, profits and losses.
16. Regulatory and Legal Risk
Changes in financial regulation, government policy, laws or tax treatment in any jurisdiction may affect trading conditions, margin requirements, and the availability, pricing or legal status of the products we offer. Regulatory changes may also affect how trading platforms operate and the compliance obligations of traders. It is your responsibility to ensure that trading with us is lawful in your country of residence, and to report and pay any taxes due on your trading activity.
17. Past Performance
Past performance, simulated results and forecasts are not reliable indicators of future results. Any figures, charts or examples shown on our website or platforms are for illustration only.
18. Risk Mitigation and Your Responsibilities
You should research thoroughly, apply effective risk-management strategies and stay informed about the risks inherent in trading. Although trading offers the potential for profit, it also carries the possibility of significant losses. Mundo-FX strongly advises clients to seek independent financial advice and to make sure they fully understand the associated risks before making any investment decision.
19. Limitation of Liability
Your use of Mundo-FX and its services is entirely at your own risk. Mundo-FX is not responsible for any damage or loss resulting from the modification, extension, suspension, termination or discontinuation of its website or services.
20. Acknowledgement
By opening an account with or using the services of Mundo-FX, you confirm that you have read and understood this Risk Disclosure Policy, that you accept the risks of trading in the financial markets described in it, that you are willing and financially able to bear the potential loss of the funds you invest, and that Mundo-FX is not liable for losses resulting from your trading activities.
